We both live in Calgary, Alberta. Karen is a lawyer with an oil and gas company and Stephen is a lawyer with a small law firm.
We love being in the outdoors and enjoying sunshine and nature.
We also believe strongly that funamentally people are good and therefore, the best way to reduce crime is by being proactive and helping people before they take to crime and by giving offenders opportunities for rehabilitation and successful integration into the communty.
Our dedication to the principles of John Howard has drawn each of us to serve on the boards of the Calgary John Howard Society and the John Howard Society of Alberta. Stephen held the position of President of the John Howard Society of Alberta for 3 years and Karen currently holds that office.
Kilimanjaro Fundraising Climb combines our passions for the outdoors, travel and assisting a worthy organization aimed at bettering our communities and our lives.
It also allows us to embark upon a friendly rivalry to see who can raise the most money for our charity.
100% of all funds raised goes directly to the operations and programs of the John Howard Society of Alberta, and charitable donation receipts will be issued by the Society.
